Winter Walking Tour - Bridge Street - Saturday, December 18 - 1-4pm
Grab your winter jacket, hat, and winter hiking boots and join us for a walk to breweries on the beer drenched Bridge Street. The Winter Walking Tours are for people that don’t mind getting a little chilly, us Michiganders can handle all kinds of weather…especially when tasty craft beers are involved.
On the tour you will be sampling some of the finest beers in Beer City and find out about the intriguing history of Grand Rapids beer culture on the historic west side. This tour will have you visiting New Holland's Knickerbocker, Jolly Pumpkin/North Peak & Harmony Hall.
You now can drink on the streets of Grand Rapids, so grab a pint of your favorite beer while at a brewery and bring it along for the hike!
New Holland's Knickerbocker is the largest taproom in the state! This impressive taproom also has an impressive list of ales (many of which you can only get in the taproom). New Holland originally opened in 1997 in Holland, MI this location opened in September of 2016. New Holland is one of the largest craft breweries in Michigan, with beers like Dragon's Milk (bourbon-barrel aged stout) you will see why.
Harmony Hall (same owners as Harmony Brewing Co.) is a funky & eccentric brewery that is inspired by the great German beer halls. This locally owned brewery has award winning wood-fired pizzas , soups, salads and sandwiches... Just like the beer, food is made in house. Bring or buy a growler, you can only buy their awesome beers on location. They have various lagers, IPA's, porters/stouts and fruity/citrusy to list a few.
Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales & North Peak Brewing Co. Jolly Pumpkin is one of the most well-known wild/sour ale producers in the country! They make some of the most unique & tastiest sours around! If sours are not your thing (or at least you think they aren't) you will have the opportunity to order non-sour ales from North Peak Brewing Co. at this stop as well. North Peak has IPA's, ambers, lagers, browns, stouts & wheats! North Peak originally opened in Traverse City, Jolly Pumpkin in Dexter Michigan, now you won't have to journey to these locations, they're right in the heart or Grand Rapids! At this stop you get to pick 1 pint (tier 1-2) & 1 sample.
Tour includes 7 large samples of beer & 1 full pint and a walk with a knowledgeable beer tour guide providing beer history of Grand Rapids old and new. Your tour guide will also lead a brewery tour at Harmony Hall.
