River City Beer Tour will have you visiting The Mitten Brewing Co., City Built Brewing Co. & Atwater Brewery. All of these breweries are near the river that gave the city the nickname, River City.
The Mitten Brewing Co. is located inside an old engine house. One of Grand Rapids most well-known breweries, The Mitten serves up some excellent crafty beers. Country Strong IPA and Triple Crown Brown are well known among the locals and beyond.
City Built Brewing Co. is unique to Grand Rapids with their vast array of beer styles and Puerto Rican food/tacos. Their tacos are REALLY tasty! Beers that have a following are Alemania (Mexican lager) & any of their amazing NE IPA's or fruity sour beers.
Atwater Brewery originally opened in 1997 in the Rivertown district of Detroit. We will be trying out their great craft beers on tap inside the historic Rowe Building, downtown Grand Rapids. They are well known for their lagers, Vanilla Java Porter and Dirty Blonde. This location brews on-site beers you cannot get elsewhere. On the tour you will get to choose any 4 samples of your liking from their extensive beer menu.
Tour includes 12 large samples of beer, a brewery tour, and transportation to and from the breweries with a knowledgeable beer tour guide.

Downtown Walking Tour - Saturday, May 4 - 12-3pm
The Downtown Walking Tour will have you exploring the craft beer scene of downtown Grand Rapids. On the tour you will be sampling some of the finest beers in Beer City, and find out about the intriguing history of Grand Rapids beer culture. This tour will have you visiting Founders Brewing Company, HopCat and B.O.B.’s Brewery, where you will go behind-the-scenes for a private brewery tour.
Founders Brewing Co. is the largest brewery in the state, and one of the most renowned breweries. They brew some of the highest rated beers in the world! We'll sampling some taproom only beers at this stop.
HopCat, once a brewery, now they are focused on pouring some of the tastiest beers from Michigan and beyond! They have been rated as one of the best beer bars in the world! A must-visit for craft beer lovers while in Grand Rapids.
B.O.B.’s Brewery is the oldest continually operating brewery in the city.At this stop we’ll go behind-the-scenes for a brewery tour, typically with John Svoboda, one of the most knowledgeable brewers in West Michigan.
Tour includes 9 samples of beer, a private brewery tour at B.O.B.'s Brewery, and a walk with a knowledgeable beer tour guide providing beer history of Grand Rapids old and new.

American influenced beers!
Creston Brewery is a chill local brewery in the heart of the Creston neighborhood. They produce lagers and ales, and sometimes make unique beers such as smoked and tea infused ales. They use a lot a locally sourced ingredients such as hops, honey, coffee and fruit.

New Holland's Knickerbocker is the largest taproom in the state! This impressive taproom also has an impressive list of ales (many of which you can only get in the taproom). New Holland originally opened in 1997 in Holland, MI this location opened in September of 2016. New Holland is one of the largest craft breweries in Michigan, with beers like Dragon's Milk (bourbon-barrel aged stout) you will see why.
